How Sculptra Works
Sculptra is made from poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible substance that stimulates your body to produce new collagen in the deeper layers of the skin. Once injected, it works beneath the surface to rebuild the structural support your face gradually loses over time, improving volume, contour, and overall skin quality.
Most patients benefit from a series of 2–3 treatment sessions spaced several weeks apart, allowing collagen to build progressively. Early improvement can begin within a few weeks, with continued results developing over the next 6 months as collagen production increases. While the visible effects often last two years or more, the collagen your body produces can remain for many years. Because we continue to naturally lose collagen over time, many patients choose a maintenance session about once per year to support long-term results.

How many treatments will I need?
Most patients need 2-3 treatment sessions spaced about 8 weeks apart for optimal results. The exact number depends on your degree of volume loss and your aesthetic goals. During your consultation, we’ll create a treatment timeline that’s realistic for you.
When will I see results?
Sculptra works gradually. You may notice subtle improvements within 6-8a few weeks, but full results typically develop over 3-6 months as collagen production increases. This slow progression is what makes Sculptra results look so natural.
How long do Sculptra results last?
Sculptra results can last up to two years or more, making it one of the longest-lasting aesthetic treatments available. Because the results are based on your body’s own collagen production, they fade gradually and naturally over time. Studies suggest that the collagen structure stimulated by Sculptra can persist for many years, in some cases up to 15 years. Since we naturally begin losing about 1% of our collagen each year starting in our 20s, maintenance treatments can help sustain results and support long-term skin quality as we continue to age.
